Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate Review

This time, I have set myself to review one of my favorite skincare products. It is Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate Review.

It has been 8 months since I bought it from Nykaa. But I haven't started using it until the last 2 months.

And, boy do I have a lot to tell you. Buying skincare is normal. I do it, you do it and some of you might do it after extensive research on Google and going through the reviews.

After I had started my job as a programmer, when the stress took its toll on me, I turned to skincare as a reward system.
  • Worked late today?? buy that moisturizer you've been eyeing for the past few months
  • Unable to meet a deadline and stressed out?? add that lipstick to cart
  • Too many bugs?? add a makeup kit to cart
  • Delivered the project successfully?? checkout that cart
and so it went on and on and it has become an addiction that I can't shake off.

Buying pretty and aromatic things shouldn't be considered as an addiction but when you spend a decent amount of your paycheck on them, that's when you know it's time to get yourself to the path of enlightenment.

So, I was really trying not to buy anything, but when I tried this sample in the Kiehl's store, I knew I had to buy it. Read on to find out if this product stayed as a staple in my skincare routine.

A little intro to our star of the post:

Kiehl’s bestselling Midnight Recovery Concentrate is a night time face oil. It is touted as one of the best selling products of Kiehl's. It is supposed to restore the skin's healthy appearance and enhance its recovery process thanks to a blend of essential oils and botanicals including lavender oil, evening primrose oil, and olive-derived squalane.

First look of the product:

As I said, since I bought this 8 months ago, the packaging was a little worn off. Kiehl's facial oil comes in a bright blue bottle. I don't use oils that much in my skincare routine, so I bought only a 15 ml bottle.

Price: Rs.2100/- for 15ml

Kiehl's is pricey. I almost didn't want to buy it for that price.

First impression:

The product comes with a dropper and it is different from others. The button/presser from the top gets stuck sometimes, but it is not a big issue. Once you press it again, it works.

The oil is clear and immediately sinks into the skin without any residue as shown below. It also adds a slight sheen to the skin. If your skin is perfect, then I imagine it would bring a glass skin-like look.

My experience with this oil:

I'm in love with the fragrance of Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate. I love lavender scents and this is so pleasant. I would use a perfume/EDT with this scent.

Adding this serum has been a step-up in my skincare game. The first thing I noticed after waking up the next day is, my skin didn't feel oily at all. It felt hydrated and soft.

There were days when I went to bed with just this on my face. It didn't flare up my pimples.
And a small quantity of oil will go a long way. I use four drops, two on my face and two on my neck and after two months, I still have half the bottle. It will last me for about two more months.

My verdict: I like it. I want to love it, but maybe not now.

Why I like this:
  • Smells lovely
  • Gives skin that hydrated look in the morning
  • Lasts long
Why I probably won't be repurchasing this next time:
  • Very pricey

Will I buy it again? - If I run out of it, yes. If I come across a better oil/serum, then no.
