Glamglow Instamud Review

I am a major skincare junkie. I don't have a fixed skincare routine as I love to try new products. Although I let my interests wander around as frequently as possible, I stick to some of my trusted and beloved skincare favorites. 

With all that being said, I'm going to review the GLAMGLOW INSTAMUD 60-second pore-refining treatment. I have bought it 6 months ago from Nykaa. Since I have used it for quite some time, I feel that it's time to put that experience to good use.

With this lockdown, I haven't been able to buy new products and I have been facing a severe "skincare withdrawal". In the words of wise Rick Sanchez, "Your only purpose in life is to buy and consume merchandise. You didn't ask questions or raise ethical complaints. And you did it. You went into a store... an actual honest to God store... and you bought something. You didn't ask questions or raise ethical complaints. You... you just looked straight into the bleeding jaws of capitalism and said 'Yes, daddy, please.'", now if only there was a job to review all the products you like and get paid for it.... that would be so good.     

So... first, a bit about the delivery experience from Nykaa. I have always been a fan of Nykaa. They have a great range of products and they usually deliver some products the very next day. I didn't face any issue with product spillage or counterfeit products. I ordered this Glamglow Instamud on Thursday and I got it on Saturday.

First look of the product:

I love bright packaging for skincare, all that bling-bling and in your face colors. Like all things, first impressions do matter very much for beauty products. That being said, it doesn't apply to my favorite products. 

However, I like the look of this Glamglow Instamud. It comes in a bright yellow bottle with the brand name lettering in silver. It sure is very pretty. 

Price: Rs.3050/- for 50ml

Glamglow products are priced admittedly very high, but I think that is okay in my opinion. Their products and packaging are pretty good. It is what it is. Unless we are involved in a product marketing business, we won't know the true price of any product. The bottom line is, I won't mind paying if the product is good.

First impression:

The product comes with a nozzle, which I'm personally a fan of. Instamud is kind of like a mask-cum-cleanser, so you don't have to put your fingers to scoop out the product, unlike a tub. It is hygenic.

The product is in very pretty violet color and is creamy in consistency. It doesn't have any chunks or scrub like particles.

Now for the fun part, the liquid after a few seconds on the skin transforms into bubbles. I'm not lying, it feels so good and tingling.

The mask feels very cool on my face after I apply it. You can feel the bubbles forming on your face and them popping after a while. Although the instructions say 60 seconds, I let the mask stay on my face for 2 to 3 minutes. After that is done, I wash the mask away.

My experience with Glamglow Instamud:

The verdict: I like it a lot. 

My skin type is oily and I suffer from acne. My first fear of using any product is that it will give me more pimples. I do a patch test on my arm first before using any product. After 48 hours, I start using the product fully on my face. 

The best part of this Instamud is, it does not give me any new pimples. I feel like this will suit anybody. Personally, I use this whenever I feel my skin is oily or in the evening when I have a day off from work. It takes a while to take off because the product is a bit thick, but I love it anyway as I like to lather it up while washing it off. In the end, my face does feel refreshed, hydrated, and smooth and it does give a pore-tightening effect. 

Pros:

• Like the nozzle, very hygenic
• No wastage of product since the nozzle can be opened
• Looks very pretty and love the bubbly effect it gives
• Skin feels very clean and soft afterward

Cons:

• Very pricey

Will I buy it again? - Not at this point. But if any offer is given on Nykaa for Glamglow, I will surely buy it again. Glamglow offers samples very frequently on product purchases in Nykaa.

I recommend it to anyone who wants to give it a try.
